# Notifications

What triggers a notification, and three behaviours worth knowing.

| Type         | Fires when                                                                                                                          |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Follows**  | A key profile you watch, or one your [Custom alerts](/watchlist-and-alerts/watchlist/custom-alerts.md) include, follows an account. |
| **Velocity** | One of your [velocity rules](/live-signals/live-feed/velocity-alerts.md) fires.                                                     |
| **Tweets**   | A project you watch tweets.                                                                                                         |
| **Alerts**   | A project you watch changes its account.                                                                                            |

New projects matching your categories or chains, and community joins by watched key profiles, arrive too. The same alerts can go to [Telegram](/watchlist-and-alerts/telegram-bot.md) and [Discord webhooks](/watchlist-and-alerts/watchlist/custom-alerts.md#discord-webhooks). All of this is Pro.

Worth knowing:

* Opening the bell marks everything as seen.
* The trash icon at the top of the bell **deletes every notification**, not just the unread ones.
* Pop-ups show three at a time; velocity alerts stay on screen a little longer.
