# Discord

The subscriber role, alerts in your own server, and tweet alerts by DM.

## Subscriber role

Join [discord.gg/alphagate](https://discord.gg/alphagate), then **Connect Discord** under Profile & Settings › Connections. On Pro, the **Subscribers** role and its signal channels open within a minute or two. You can connect on the Free plan too; the role then arrives the minute you upgrade. If you connected before joining the server, it arrives once you join.

Alphagate only stores your Discord user ID. A Discord account can be linked to one Alphagate account at a time; linking it again moves it. When Pro ends, the role is removed after a while.

## Alerts in your own server

Account changes, tweets, new projects, follows and community joins can each post to a channel of your own through a webhook ([Custom alerts](/watchlist-and-alerts/watchlist/custom-alerts.md#discord-webhooks)), and so can each [velocity alert](/live-signals/live-feed/velocity-alerts.md) rule. Webhooks need Pro but not a linked Discord account.

## Tweet alerts by DM

With Pro and Discord linked, your watched projects' tweets come by DM, unless you've set a **Tweets** webhook: then they go there instead.
