FAQ
Answers to the questions we hear most.
Plans and payments
Is the Free plan really free forever? Yes. It starts when you confirm your email and doesn't expire. What it includes →
Can I pay by card? No. Pro is paid in crypto, from any wallet or exchange: USDC, USDT or USDG, or SOL, ETH or BNB. How to pay →
Does Pro renew automatically? No. You pay for a month, a quarter or a year at a time. Paying again before it ends adds the new period on top, so you don't lose any days.
I paid but I'm still on the Free plan. The checkout credits a payment by itself once it confirms; if less arrived than the price (an exchange fee, say), the page asks for the rest. A payment from the connected-wallet checkout can be imported under Profile & Settings › Billing. Still stuck? Send the transaction to the team on Discord or Telegram.
What happens when Pro ends? Your account goes back to the Free plan. Your watchlist, tags and settings are kept for when you renew.
Using Alphagate
What's the difference between Followings and Discover? Followings lists every follow, so a project appears once for every key profile that follows it. Discover lists each account once, with its traction summed up.
How are key profiles chosen? By our team, by hand, over several years: VCs, founders, developers, researchers, official accounts and alpha hunters with a track record. Profiles tied to scams or bad calls are removed.
Can I suggest a key profile? Yes. Tell us on Discord or Telegram who, and why.
Why does an account show previous usernames? Alphagate records every handle it has seen an account use. A project account with several is worth a second look before you buy.
Why does a contract show as deleted? The account tweeted it and later deleted the tweet. Alphagate keeps the contract on record.
Where did Notes and project Chat go? They're no longer part of the web app. Members still talk in the Discord and Telegram groups, and private notes on X accounts work in the extension.
Alerts
I'm not getting any alerts.
Alerts need Pro.
The key profiles you care about should be on your watchlist with their bell on.
The account limits in Custom alerts (Project Maximum followers, Maximum key followers) apply to watched key profiles too: a low limit can silence them.
For Telegram, the Telegram card in Profile & Settings should show your ID, and you should have pressed Start in the bot.
Velocity alerts need at least one rule switched on.
I get too many alerts. Mute busy key profiles on the Watchlist, drop list subscriptions, or tighten the account limits in Custom alerts.
"Live updates are paused" asks me to confirm this browser. The web app's live updates run in up to 5 browsers per account, and a new browser has to be confirmed once. Enter your password, or ask for a 6-digit code by email, and they resume; you stay signed in either way. Confirming a sixth browser pauses the one you used least recently.
"Live updates can't run in this window." Live updates keep a small key in the browser, which private windows and blocked site data don't allow. Use a normal window, or allow site data for alphagate.io and reload.
Extension
The extension shows nothing on X. Sign in from the extension's own popup; signing in on alphagate.io doesn't sign it in. Overlays appear on profile pages (x.com/name), not on single tweets. More →
The side panel says "Premium Required". The side panel needs Pro. If you've just paid, click Check again; a new payment can take a minute to show up.
